So, first of all, I'm glad I didn't actually have to fight anyone and the killing scenes just kind of automatically played out. I was prepared to be frustrated and spend hours dying replaying. I do recognize it's kind of messed up to have them all die without much of a fight like that, it makes them seem so vulnerable ;-; Especially Toriel and Papyrus really trusted the player a lot. Sans' expression when he saw that Papyrus was killed really broke my heart.

It's also pretty screwed up when I kissed Sans before killing only Undyne and Alphys. The Sans fight even when played in "visual novel mode" was still challenging. But either way, I had to get a notebook and jotted down the options' order to win LOL. I have to say, the animation was really well done. RenPy is known for visual novels - which are normally quite static, so all the animated moves in Sans' fight was definitely a breath of fresh air and definitely a skele-TON of efforts was put in.

The way you reused some famous lines Sans said during the fight, while also adding some tailor-made lines about soulmates was great too. I wanted to confirm Sans actually gets killed With that said, on the 1st True LOVE run, Sans mentioned how once upon a time we used to be soulmates - quite a lot of times, and it made me feel really bad orz.

Because these moments are so rare, whenever he does so, it really hits hard. It's like, he really loves the player so he's willing to look past their sins, but he was stabbed again right after that I gotta say, I'm surprised Chara did not kill the rest of the monsters. I kind of expected that to happen. I replayed Papyrus' route to see if he'd get killed, but surprisingly he lived?

It's so unfair Sans is the only one who got killed by Chara adjfkls wait what am i even saying i shouldn't wish for others' deaths. Also, when playing the Papyrus' route again after acquiring the True LOVE ending, it seems Sans didn't shake the player's hand anymore when Papyrus told him we were on a date? Anyway, on the 2nd run of True LOVE, I realized there was a lack of some lines mentioning the player and Sans' past connection as soulmates.

He also did not call the player's name when he died either. I'm not sure if that was because I was on my 2nd True LOVE run, or because I did Papyrus' route right before that so technically we weren't recognized as soulmates in the past.

It was an interesting change nonetheless. I was impressed with how you created the Chara scene also: a dark void, had to wait a little bit before the dialogue to give up my SOUL appears. Basically, the little variations 4th wall breaking here and there depending on the number of playthroughs and the player's actions really preserved that original UT vibe.

Onto happier things, I really love the epilogue of napping under the "stars" with Sans. The only problem pls don't hate me I know you worked hard : it's too short ;-; I would've loved to see more of what life with Sans is like, since he's pretty well-known in the Underground and all, how would people-- I mean, other monsters react if the player keeps sticking around him.

I wanted to exercise in his room too on the treadmill of course I think that's enough of my rambling The graphics: I think you mentioned somewhere on Twitter that you were more of a coder than an artist, but the art is honestly really nice. I love all the CGs, items and character sprites I'm not sure if you did the backgrounds yourself orz, they look like they were taken straight from the original game, but if you did, wow.

I especially love the sprites. They really radiate each character's personality, the proportions, expressions and all are really close to the original pixel ones in UT. Flowey's expressions were so well done, that little twist of pain on its face when its petals were plucked in the True LOVE ending, definitely a nice touch. Sans' expressions were great too, his nonexistent face muscles didn't move much, but slight changes could really change the emotion he depicted.

Did I mention the annoying ly cute dog wagging its tail?! That was adorable! Really, many games don't have those details. They really bring the characters to life! The system: I love that you coded in a system to prevent the player from taking existing characters' names like Chara, Frisk, Sans etc.

I mean, it's not ground-breaking because that's how it is in the original game, but to replicate such features still takes a certain amount of effort. It really shows how you are attentive to details like that. Same goes for the variations on different playthroughs, special scenes with Chara and Flowey that I've mentioned before. The aptly named save files were interesting and kind of funny too LOL. The hidden section in the Album was My curiosity for the last 4th CG in Sans' section of the Album really killed the cat and literally everyone else The UI: There's not much to say, except that it's punderful.

The design and fonts reflected UT's style perfectly! Being able to drag the textbox and have options changing places during Sans' fight was a great idea too. Varying text speeds for certain lines also had a good effect on controlling the game's flow! The music and sound: I feel like it's not punny to keep saying things are punderful, but allow me to say it again: punderful. It seems you had a hand in the making of certain music tracks as well, that's pretty awesome considering you already coded AND drew art for the game!

Overall, I have nothing but love for this game, and I can feel your love in the project too! Thank you for making it! If there ends up being an expansion or sequel? I was kind of expecting the epilogue with Sans to have more dialogue, like, he's always there when the player opens the game unless the game is RESET somehow , and he'll say different things each time - in a punny and romantic way I know I have too much expectations for the epilogue but I just don't want it to end orz ;-;.

Other than that, I just want to say again I'm impressed with your coding skills in RenPy. It really feels like you can create a mind-blowing original project with concepts similar to Undertale or DDLC, not a clone or fangame, but like a truly original game with Again, I'm sorry if my review is messy and my English as a second language gives you a bone to pick with me Thank you so much for playing and for taking the time to review!

And no no, your review is not a mess and your English is just fine! I'm so happy that you enjoyed the VN and that you were able to catch the little details I put in! I'm really happy to hear that it feels close to the original UT spirit; I was striving for that! And I'm glad you caught the repeated phrases. Especially "cause someone really cares about you" and how it turns into "cause i really care about you" to explicitly refer to himself.

In a way, that's him finally admitting and committing to how he feels about you. He's accepting his own feelings. Honestly, I felt so bad writing that whole "cheating" part for the secret Papyrus route. But that's something that a jerk like Flowey would say. Also, I can answer why you weren't seeing Sans shake the player's hand or Sans not mentioning the past connection of SOULmates during your second run.

The number for the SKIP function is actually counted. XD I coded a function that will count the number of times the player uses it. In addition, if you were curious about the 4th Sans CG And I know the epilogue leaves so much. Trust me, I want to see more of what happens, too! But I felt, for Dating Start, that was the best place to end it.

Your story with Sans is just beginning. And, when you leave that world, it's up to you regarding how you continue the story in your head And he accepts it and just goes back to sleep, awaiting whatever happens because he cannot control it. I would love to make an original project one day!

At the same time, I want to make more Undertale VNs, too! Maybe a bit shorter, but we'll see where my imagination takes me! Thank you again for your wonderful words and for playing the VN. I'm glad it warmed your heart with love. Edit: Oh! I also forgot to mention! The backgrounds are straight out of the game. Haha yeah the "cheating" talk really fits Flowey's personality. At least it didn't seem to leave any consequences. I mean it'd be interesting and hurtful I've seen Sans die 4 times already and also got told to go to hell by him countless times I'm curious but I don't really want to follow my curiosity anymore.

Considering all the things you have to take note of in this game, I guess that means a lot of functions and variables are needed. The textbox dragging idea was cool xD I think the hints you put in were well-written as well. Same goes for that maze with Papyrus! It always saddens me that Sans just kind of accepts the fact that all the things he did and anything that happened to him can easily be RESET.

I mean, ye it's true there's nothing he can do about it, he's literally just an NPC lmao, but the fact that he's written as if he's aware of it really messes with the player's mind. That's why I have this special place in my heart for games that break the 4th wall haha. Btw, I just realized I forgot to ask this yesterday. That bridge scene where Sans saves the player, if "Compliment" was chosen instead of kissing him, he'd have a line telling the player not to "get too close to the edge".

I thought it meant to not be involved in dangerous situations, but the player's reaction was "feeling the stomach drop" and a "tight smile" as if they're uncomfortable. Did his line allude to something else? Like "don't go on a killing spree bruh" or something I also forgot to mention that I love how the phone's outline color changes depending on which trait was chosen by the player!

But it seems sentences where the trait is specifically mentioned in yellow text can be skipped even though that trait was not chosen before? For example: "your SOUL is pulsing strong with [trait]" - sentences like these are skipped even when that trait is newly chosen compared to previous playthroughs.

It seems RenPy treats this as the same sentence even though the content trait variable is changed? It feels kinda weird because some sentences - which are completely identical to each other - cannot be skipped, such as if I recall correctly some "hmmm I've seen this behavior in some other VNs before too so I just find it kind of interesting.

LOL Yes, you would have absolutely been dunked on. XD Both during midpoint Mercy and end fight Mercy. And when it comes to variables, there was definitely Let's just say It was quite the collection. If I didn't have that, I think I'd be so lost. Even with the list of variables, I got lost a few times!

That's why the player feels uncomfortable because they feel Sans' being reserved. Then I wanted to share that experience with everyone else XD. In regards to the lines with the SOUL traits, yes. Ren'Py will still see that line as seen, even if the variable within has changed.

However, for moments where Sans talks about the expression or the LV, I made sure for each instance to have its own line. This way, if the player was skipping, it wouldn't skip past that. For player experience, it made more sense to stop the player at those blocks of dialogue than to stop the player for one single line with a different SOUL trait.

Thank you so much for all of your questions and for taking the time to comment! It really means a lot that you've enjoyed the VN! Ah I understand now! Thank you for spending your time answering my questions too! It's great insight into how the game was developed, and it's clear that a lot of love was put in! Other Sans simps like me really appreciate your work xD. Sooo uhhh I really really loved this VN.

I've known Undertale for years though I haven't played yet and this VN was the one that got me into the original game. Sans is officially my favourite character now. I really can't stop looking up info or content about him.

And for a whole week I can't seem to stop myself from replaying the game over and over, just lookimg for every possibility and reliving the best moments over and over. I really can't bring myself to break my promise to Sans to reset or to do Papyrus' route so what I did was that after getting the true love ending, I actually copied a copy of the roaming files and put it somewhere safe, in my mind that was me preserving my true ending so it's as if in that timeline, I never resetted as promised and Sans is happy always.

But ofcourse I still continued on with the rest of the game and I was able to finish all the routes. I have uninstalled and installed the game over and over again and I mixed the orders of pursuing the routes as well. Needless to say I had a lot of fun and tears with this game. And the music? Spot on. Simply spot on. I loved them in every scene. Though my favourite use of it would be during Papyrus' route where Sans shakes the player's hand and the glockenspiel version of It's raining somewhere else plays.

That scene was just so bittersweet. Also every romantic scene with sans? Just so beautiful. What I do now is that I just open the game and play the ost while I type my requirements in school. Just another thing to note though, the true love corridor scene in a true love run but after fighting sans but not meeting chara got to me the most. Before, that lovely scene that was supposed to be sweet was so sad to me when it became tainted after I did a true LOVE run and meeting Chara. I was really so horrified.

I mean, I was happy that despite knowing what the player did sans still forgave the player, so the betrayal traumatized me. But then I uninstalled and cleaned everything to start anew. I was surprised though that Flowey was mad. That never happened before. But then I did the true love run again and when it got to the true love corridor scene again I was so anxious because I was afraid to see the betrayal. I was still so moved by sans' forgiveness and unwavering love, but then shockingly, the player didn't kill him.

I was actually so surprised and relieved. I resetted and did a redo of the route to see if this was an error but still, even if the dialogue said that sans knew the player killed him, he was still not killed. I was so relieved. Even after doing the no love run, I felt that this was the best ending. It was as if the player had a change of heart and sans out of his love forgave the player. To me it made the ending better because it showed just how deeply sans felt for the player that he was willing to forgive and forget, and they get their happy ending.

Really after seeing the betrayal, I was so horrified, so expecting it and not seeing it happen was a good surprise for me. It truly felt that sans accepted everything and the player's change of heart was sincere. I only realized yesterday that the reason he wasn't killed though was because I resetted after killing sans so I never got to sell my soul to Chara, lol.

Yeaaahhh that definitely made the ending better for me. And the fact that it was an accident really was the cherry in top. So yeah this game lives in my heart rent free. I truly wanted this to be a love letter to the game and to Sans, so to know that you grew to care about the world makes me happy.

I truly believe that music is its own separate character that helps move the story, and the player. However, in both that change of dialogue and the CG Album, the remnants of what happened will remain. Oh yeah, I also forgot to say that the epilogue was something else to. Sooo is my assumption correct that when Sans asks the player to go back to sleep then pauses and says instead that he'll be there Idk if it is, but if it was Alsooo after so many replays.

It only hit me now that the echo flower actually blurted the secret code word! Ahhh it has hidden in plain sight all along!!! And at that point, he has accepted it, even though it hurts him. And yes! During Act One, the echo flower blurts out one of Sans' codewords. It's not the codeword that he ultimately tells you to repeat back to him. However, it's foreshadowing to him telling you one in the future once he trusts you.

Thank you so much! Thank YOU for playing! Well, whatever you decide, Sans will be right there. I just have a question about how to get the secret route ending with Papyrus? I just keep getting Flowey telling me that he's surprised I keep choosing him haha. Or is that the ending?? I just finished playing the game and all I can say is It's beautiful.

You did a wonderful job at capturing the original atmosphere. The dialogue, the scenes, the sprites, the music It all fit together so very well. Emotionally, this felt like playing Undertale for the first time. All throughout, I couldn't keep the smile off my face. I just felt so warm and fuzzy! And at the end, I nearly cried a little but in a good way.

This is normal, right? Thank you, truly, for making this game. This was the remedy I didn't know I needed. I wish you the absolute best. Take care! Thank you so much for playing and for taking the time to comment! It means a lot that you think that of my little passion project. I may have gotten emotional myself while developing the VN. I managed to download the game yesterday, before you took it down, and I am in love! When I saw all the same backgrounds from the original game, it felt like coming home - and the way you got all the character personalities absolutely perfect just enhanced that!

I'm definitely going to download the new release as soon as it comes out, and I can't wait for any and all other passion projects you release in the future, if that is what you want to do :. Hi there! I'm glad you enjoyed the VN!! Thank you so much for playing it and taking the time to comment!

It means so much that you gave my passion project a chance! I'm hoping to create new projects both Undertale and not in the future!! After a bit of a break, though! Oh, that's amazing! Considering it was all you doing it, of course you should take some time to rest! I'm so confused..

I was starting to think somethins wrong with my laptop cause I couldn't find the download option on gamejolt either But I'm able to download other games just fine I should have it up either later today or sometime tomorrow. When you complete the genocide run with you giving her your soul and reset everything.

I've tried multiple things to get that happy ending again, but I can't. Regarding your question: within the game, this is intentionally programmed as the consequences. I still won't make the old version available for now while I'm preparing to upload the newer version. But I'll be announcing it when it's released.

Thank you for telling me! Also, I really hope to make more VNs, Undertale related and not, in the future! But for right now, after developing Dating Start! I really am glad that you were able to fall for sans all over again!! Yes, of course! Keep it on your laptop. I'm so glad that you picked up on all the little details! Also, I'm glad the little things like the dimming of the lights caught your attention. I'm so glad you enjoyed how the scenes were written!

I keep saying that every scene is my favorite scene LOL But honestly it was so fun to write for this world and these characters that I love so much. I see it in your fics! I know you have the potential and I'll be here cheering you on!! I'm glad you liked my music choices! I can't really create music.

I make, like, tracks for this VN. And I used and credited others for the rest of the soundtrack. But the thing is I needed scenes to sound a certain way and the music should serve as a vessel and a character of its own. I wanted to make sure I wrote as close to in-character or, at least, my perspective of in-character as possible. And I'm glad you thought he was charming!! This honestly is the version of sans that I see and that I love.

I saw someone on tiktok advertising this and I really want to play it! At the moment I'm unable to though since I don't have the right device to do so. Once I get a laptop or if this gets released for android use I will play this. Reading the description I see this as a really interesting concept!

AAAA I'm in love with this!! I was half-expecting the 'secret route' to include gaster, but I was pleasantly surprised to see Papyrus! It was really sweet and I enjoyed playing through it! Ahhhhh thank you!! I adore this, everything, it really feels like the canon characters. Ahhhh thank you! I'm glad that you liked the VN and that you enjoyed all the routes! Omg, I played this all last night, and I had to make an account this morning just to comment!!

I had downloaded it when it came out,, but just got some time to play it.. It's my favorite by far. I loved the secret Papyrus ending!! That was so adorable!! It was so wholesome getting to help with his extraordinary spaghetti. And the lil Alphyne moments And may I add that the way this played out felt so close to canon!!?? It may just be me but if something strays too far from canon it just feels kinda fabricated,, and isn't as special.

But the way this played out, it wasn't just.. And he is so in character.. I do wanna see what all this has to offer.. I'm glad that you enjoyed it so much! Also, I'm glad you enjoyed how the story played out! Despite me basically writing this as a magical fairytale, I wanted that fairytale to feel tangible. And I'm glad it felt real to you. I won't confirm or deny your theory. I think you really nailed the characters and the relationship dynamics. The writing?! The story building?!!! I was so amazed to see that most of the VN was made by one person.

The dedication and love you have put in it is so clear and so palpable! Ahhhhh thank you thank you!! I'm so glad that you enjoyed the VN! And I'm glad you thought it was a wonderful love letter. With a SOULmate twist. Being an indie, almost solo VN dev is hard work! But I'm so glad that my hard work was well received by you all! I'm absolutely in love with the tinier, more subtle references to the game, those are always such a treat!

I love when fan works do that!! I'm gonna be replaying this bad boy for a while :'D. Good for them, good for them! I just wanted to crank everything up as much as possible LOL I'm glad you enjoyed spending time with everyone! And I'm glad you thought Sans was well-characterized!

I strived for him to be as close to the Sans Undertale we all know and love. Please don't be sorry for rambling! Your comments are so appreciated and I'm just glad to know you enjoyed the VN! Oh my god you are an absolute ethereal being!!!

Also I apologize for this long rant I am about to give but like, I can't NOT compliment you on all the hard work you have done!!! First of all, I can't believe how true to the characters you were! There was a split second where I thought that I was just playing actual Undertale. But the characters were so on point!

Also I played Undertale for the first time on the switch so I never had the joy of having a heart attack when the game closed on its own until now. Thank you very much for that lmaoo. Nearly ran to get my techy sister but luckily saved myself from the embarrassment of that.

I really thought it was just gonna be a short and maybe even like a bad wattpad-fic but oh my god, you blew away all of my doubts. I applaud and look up at you in awe at on all your hard work and time for making this masterpiece. The wait was very worth it. I played the Demo in September and I was very intrigued and wow waiting was totally worth it!

Sans was amazing! They were hilarious and then flirtatious! Like oh my god I thought that I had a good defense against sweet-talking but no, your Sans absolutely demolished my defenses. Absolutely loved the pun battle! In the True Love route, the ending was so sweet and wholesome especially with it ending it the lovebirds napping together.

Also, you don't understand how hard my heart dropped when Sans was killed so suddenly at the end of the True Love after doing the genocide run. What a twisted end, loved it! Oh my gosh, the CG pictures!!! I was so unprepared when the first one of Sans appeared!

I was playing it at 2 in the morning so I had to stop myself squealing else I'd wake up my mom and two nieces who were sleeping in the room with me. But anyways, the artwork was amazing! Onto Papyrus!!! He was just so wholesome and oh my god his cute sparkly eyes!!! God my heart! Critical hit lol. Like I was just curious but honestly I am now battling myself who to have as an end. Just his line of like, "our love is like a bud which needs to be nourished and cherished to grow.

I was struck by cupid's arrow. And then it was so hot when he like swooped the character in his arms when kissing! Was not expecting such a spicy scene, lmaoo! Amazing job in making that route by the way. Now I can't decide between the two brothers so I'm going to look for fanfic now lol. Alphys and Undyne had me wheezing. Alphys with her "I ship it! Amazing portrayal of the both of them! Ahhhhhhhh thank you so much for your words!!

I'm always over the moon when I see that someone enjoyed the VN! Like the body and neck dates, using serial numbers to date a Fender is not a sure bet. At many points in Fender's history, serial number usage overlapped again owing to the modular manner of production. Below we'll go into detail about the various serial number schemes employed by Fender as far back as There are certainly plenty of exceptions, so again, using serial numbers in conjunction with other dating methods is always the best bet.

Click on the links here to jump directly to the serial number style that matches your instrument:. In the early years, Fender serial numbers schemes were specific to the model. Esquires, Broadcasters and Telecasters shared a serial number sequence, while the landmark Precision Bass had its own system.

In this early period, the serial number can be found on the bridge of the instrument see image. Here are the rough serial number ranges for the early Esquires and Telecasters :. Also, for the first half or so of , the inaugural run of Stratocasters had a distinct number sequence all under number By mid, Fender began using a universal serial number sequence for all its instruments.

At this time, the location of the serial number also shifted from the bridge to the neckplate the metal plate located on back of where the neck meets the body. Here's how the serial numbers break down from to the beginning of , though there are some areas of inconsistency in this era:. At the very end of and into , Fender changed to a system where serial numbers began with an "L. Here the range of the L-series serial used each year. Some of the earliest ones actually popped up in late as well:.

After the CBS purchase of Fender in , the factory switched to a new serial sequence with numbers that continued the same general format used prior to the takeover. These are generally referred to as F series due the large Fender branded F on the neckplates of the era. This period also saw a switch from the orginal four-bolt neckplate of the '60s to a three-bolt neckplate in just one example of cost-saving costs introduced under CBS. Starting in , Fender transitioned to a new serial number scheme and moved the placement of most serial numbers to the headstock of the instrument.

Depending on the era and model, the number can be found on either the front or back of the headstock. After a short period of overlap with the old system, the post numbers will start with a letter that indicates the decade, followed by a number that indicates the year of that decade. In the s, you'll also see serials starting with a DZ which indicates the Deluxe series, but the format is otherwise the same.

For example, a serial number with N4 would be from One starting with Z5 would be from This is particularly pronounced in the transitional period of the mid-'80s, though the system has been pretty much on point since about After , the letter changed to a format starting with US then two digits that tell the year of the current decade. American-made signature series instruments follow a very similar scheme to the above, but use a prefix S before the decade letter. For example, a Signature Series guitar from would have a serial starting with SN8 followed by five digits.

These have serial numbers starting with V and do not strictly correlate to years. The neck dates on these guitars, however, are usually reliable. Fender Japan serial numbers can usually be found on the back of the neck near the neck joint. Though examples also exist with the number on the headstock or the neck-plate in the case of certain early reissue models.

Up until , the serial was paired with the words "Made in Japan. In , Fender expanded operations with a series of instruments produced in Japan by the Fuji Gen Gakki company. Like the US serial numbers, MIJ made in Japan serials start with a letter or pair of letters that indicate the rough year of production. This system, however, is notoriously inconsistent and incomplete, which makes dating by serial number even less reliable for MIJ Fenders. After , Fender Japan switched back to marking Fenders as "Made in Japan" though for a few years instruments with both decals were made.

Serial numbers since this transition have continued the same sequence as the "CIJ" era. Fender opened a factory in Ensenada, Mexico in the late '80s and instruments started coming off the line in The MIM serial number scheme is actually very straight-forward. For Mexican Fenders made in the s, the serial will start with an MN followed by a number that indicates the year of the decade. Instruments made in the s follow the same form but start with MZ.
